Primary Center sets Pre-Kindergarten screening

Wirt County Primary Center has set pre-kindergarten screening for the 2019-20 school year. The screening will be held Friday, February 1, from 8:30 am - 2:30 pm. Children who will be 4 years old by July 1 are eligible for pre-kindergarten services. Children 3 years old who may need early intervention services and who aren't currently enrolled in the Birth to Three Program could be eligible for special education services. Children from birth to 2 years old whose families suspect they may have a developmental delay could be eligible for Birth to Three services. Parents are asked to call Jackie Harris at the Primary Center at 304.275.4263 to set up appointments. Parents should take the following to the screening: the child, a physical completed at the child's fourth birthday, a dental checkup report, a report of up-to-date immunizations, a certified birth certificate from West Virginia Department of Vital Statistics, the WCPC Pre-K enrollment form and income verification. Parents who cannot bring those items to the screening must submit them before the child may begin school. Please bring as many of these items as possible.
