WCHS 9th and 12th graders will be receiving their GSA and SAT testing results today! If you have any questions regarding your student's score, please call the high school at 304-275-4241.
Students who took the SAT School Day in spring 2023 will receive an email at their K12 student email account containing a link to an individual student video score report. Please have your child check his or her student email account for the link. Simply click on the link and enter your child’s date of birth to access the video score report customized specifically for your child. Be sure to check out the links to resources that also are provided. If you have any difficulty accessing the report, please contact your child’s school for assistance.
Registration for the 2023 Homecoming Parade is now open. Clubs and organizations are invited to complete the registration form at https://forms.gle/D85TzNtPN5fHDidm9. The parade will be on September 22nd at 2:15 p.m. Parade entries are due by September 20th.

Parents and Students - please read the important reminders below!
1. Pick up and drop off location for WCHS is the senior parking lot. This helps keep traffic out of the bus lines. Please follow traffic directional arrows in and out of the parking lot. If dropping off at the back of the middle/primary school first, please turn down Harriett St. to enter the WCHS parking lot.
2. Students need to review the dress code for school. This week is a scorcher - but we do have air conditioning at the school! Shorts, dresses, and shirts need to meet dress code requirements. If in doubt, wear something else.
3. Picture day is tomorrow. Your student should have picture information with them or you can find information on our school's Facebook Page.

STEAM wraps up this week! Today we are exploring basic programming with Micro:bits, Makey Makeys, and Spheros. We will be in Mrs. Lemley's room from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. Thursday we have a change to our original schedule. The WV forestry department will be coming to do a nature walk and a match stick forest activity. On Thursday, we will meet at Wirt County Middle School, please enter through the front doors. This is also the last week to donate canned food for our canned food drive. As a reminder, the student who brings in the most non-perishable food items will receive a $10 Amazon gift card.
In accordance with West Virginia State Health Requirements, students entering the 12th grade for the 2023-2024 school year are required to have: • A dental exam by a dentist • A well child/physical exam by a doctor or medical provider • Proof of TDAP Booster • One dose of Meningitis Vaccination - Please note: if the first does of the meningitis vaccine was received after age 16, then the booster dose is not needed.
The dental exam and well child/physical exam must be completed within the 12 months prior to the first day of school in August 2023. If your child has had a recent well child/physical exam and/or dental exam, please ask their doctor/dentist to provide you with proof that you can bring to the school.

We plan to have stations set up for parents and students. Our Wellness Center will be on hand for vaccines and even well child/dental visits if they are needed!
We are excited for Week 4 of STEAM! Tuesday from 12:30 - 2:30 will be a Maker Day. Students are invited to create with the Circuts, explore with Micro:bits, create 3-D prints, use the sublimation printer, and more! Thursday from 12:30 - 2:30 is our Escape Room Day. Students will work together to solve a cold case file, then put their teamwork to the test in an escape room! Students should report to Mrs. Lemley's room at WCHS for both sessions.
STEAM will only be on Thursday this week at Wirt County High School due to the holiday. We hope you have a fantastic 4th of July! We will see you on Thursday from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. in Mrs. Lemley's room for VR goggles and 3-D printing. Lunch will be available at the high school at 12:00 p.m.
