This month, we're diving into the bizarre world of unique animals and asking the question: Which animal is the weirdest in the world?

✅Return for PBIS Points: Sign and date the sheet at the bottom of the article and have your student return it by October 31 to receive 5 PBIS points! Students received paper copies of these forms last week.
Last week to donate! Don't forget, we're in the final week of our Halloween costume drive! 🎃 Help us give every kid a Halloween to remember by donating your costumes. We're accepting lightly used and brand-new costumes for grades K-8.

Tomorrow is the day for the 3rd Annual Communities in Schools Food Drive! Join us at the WCHS Homecoming Football Game. Donations will be accepted starting at 5:30 P.M. Your generosity directly benefits the students and families of Wirt County Schools.
Tomorrow is the homecoming parade! WCMS students will be leaving to walk up to the parade at approximately 1:45. We ask that anyone signing out be signed out between 12:00 and 1:00, if possible. We have lots of activities for our students in the morning that we don't want them to miss! Anyone who is being signed out by someone OTHER than their parent must have a note with that information in the morning. Also, please remind students to bring their own bags to fill with candy!

🏀October 23rd from 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. is our next PBIS Fun Night and WCMS is hosting a 3 vs 3 Basketball tournament. Permission forms to attend will be distributed in mid-October.
🎃October 31st at 2:15 p.m. will be the WCMS Pumpkin Chunkin' event. Parents and guardians are invited to work with their students to build a catapult to launch a pumpkin in front of the whole school. The flyer we sent home with students has more information. We are asking all families who are interested to register by October 24th. Registration forms are available in the STEM room. We invite all parents and guardians to come out on Oct. 31st at 2:15 p.m. to check out the catapults and the advisory pumpkin projects students will be working on this month!

▪️Students will be participating in a variety of stations. If you do not wish for your child to participate in a specific station for any reason, please contact WCMS by the end of the day Thursday.
▪️Vinyl Personalization is a station option. Students may bring any fabric item to personalize using heat transfer vinyl (shirt, hoodie, socks, etc).

Students are bringing home permission for our first PBIS Fun Night! We are hosting a Tiger Tailgate Dance on Friday, September 26th from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. Tickets are $1.00 and concessions will be available at the dance. Students must return their permission form along with $1.00 for a ticket by 8:00 a.m. on the day of the dance. Students may not bring notes or call home next Friday to request permission to stay.

This book club is all about their voice, their vibe, and the stories that speak to them. Whether they're into graphic novels, fantasy sagas, memoirs, or TikTok-famous thrillers, they get to choose what they read. Then, when they're ready, they bring their book into the conversation and share how it connects to their life, thoughts, or even just their mood that week.
Free books and bookish gear at our meetings! We are looking forward to meeting new students to connect with for 2025-2026. Thanks to FRN and Jessica Shaffer for sharing this with our students - 7th and 8th graders are permitted to attend.
