Wirt County Schools

Wirt County Schools will be closed today, April 12th, due to flooding. This will be an AIT day and the board office and school offices will be closed.

Wirt County Schools will be on a 2 hour delay, tomorrow, April 12th. Again, Wirt County Schools will be on a 2 hour delay schedule tomorrow.

Wirt County Schools will be dismissing at 1PM today due to inclement weather. Again, Wirt County Schools will be dismissing at 1PM.

Wirt County Schools would like to remind students, parents, and staff that on Monday April 8th, we will experience a partial solar eclipse. This event will begin around 2 PM and conclude around 4 PM. Wirt County Schools will be on a regular schedule on Monday. If your child stays home on Monday for educational purposes to view the eclipse, please send in a note, as this educational opportunity will be an excused absence. Wirt County Schools has put protocals in place to ensure student safety during this event. All students and staff will be provided eclipse glasses to wear during teacher led viewing and to bring home during their bus ride. Please help us in educating your child about the dangers of looking at the sun during the eclipse without special eclipse glassed made for this purpose. Thank you for your understanding and support of our efforts to safely enjoy this unique educational experience.
